Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide and escorted to the hotel in the Goreme region of Cappadocia. You still have the afternoon at leisure. (-/-/-) 1 night in Ortahisar
Day 2: After breakfast we go to the Mamasun reservoir. The mountain bikes are ready for you here and the bike tour through Cappadocia begins along the river bank. You reach the village of Ihlara, where you can admire some very old cave churches that were once used by Byzantine monks. We continue on foot past small gardens through a narrow valley, on the sides of which the rock walls rise up to 170 m. On the way you will visit other small rock churches whose walls are decorated with colorful frescoes from the 9th century. You spend the night in a small, cozy guesthouse. (22 km / 3-4 hours by bike), (B/L/D) 1 night
Day 3: In the morning we take the bus from Ihlara north to the village of Kaymakli. Here you will visit the fascinating underground city, dug into the rock by Orthodox Christians. The underground city has now been uncovered to a depth of 35 m, which corresponds to 5 floors. After the visit, we continue by bike through the impressive tuff landscape from Kaymakli to Mustafapasa. Overnight stay in Mustafapasa in a small guesthouse (35 km / 5 hours by bike), (B/L/D) 1 night
Day 4: In the morning you start cycling towards Yesiloz, a small village on the plateau of the Erciyes volcano, whichtowers over the entire region at 3,916 m high. Passing Lake Damsa, on the banks of which we will take a shortpicnic break, we continue to the village of Bahceli. Here you will visit a local tea house and enjoy a typical Turkish coffee or black tea at your leisure. Continue to Kayak, where the farmers also grow very good wine, andthen to Göreme and spend the night in a guesthouse. (35 km / 5 hours by bike), (B/L/D) 1 overnight stay
Day 5: After a leisurely breakfast, we cycle through the beautiful Pancarlik Valley. You reach Ortahisar, a small town whose citadel invites you to take a tour. After the visit, you cycle further into the Kizilcukur valley, which is one of the warmest valleys in the region due to its sheltered location. Hidden among the many impressive tuff towers is the so-called "Grape Church", which has well-preserved frescoes depicting the ancient winemaking tradition and fruit cultivation. Continue to the ancient settlement of Cavusin, built on an ancient Christian cave city that was revealed by a landslide triggered by an earthquake. Overnight stay in a guesthouse in Cavusin. (30 km / 4 hours by bike), (B/L/D) 1 night in
Day 6: Passing the village of Pasabaglari you will soon reach Zelve. Here, in three small valleys, there are several rock churches tightly packed next to each other. The journey continues to Avanos on the banks of the Kizilirmak River. Along the way you will encounter numerous examples of local architecture and visit various local artisans. Pottery and carpet weaving are among the most commonly practiced craft activities here. After lunch in a small restaurant we continue to Urgup. Here, at the foot of a rock, there is a small information center about the sights and the origins of the entire region. On the way to Urgup you will visit the Sarihan caravanserai. Passing the village of Çokek you reach Ulasli, where you spend the night in a guesthouse. (33 km / 5 hours by bike), (B/L/D) 1 overnight stay in Çökek at a village house.
Day 7: The last day of this wonderful bike tour through Cappadocia takes you through the "White Valley". The path leads through a dry river bed, on the banks of which you can admire various stone towers and other rock formations. We continue up to Uchisar, where you take a hike to the top of the mountain and get a magnificent view of the entire Cappadocia region from above. After the descent, we continue by bike over the Babayan Plateau to the small village of Ibrahimpasa. Once here, you return the rental bikes and have the day at leisure until the evening.
